LeBron James has achieved another milestone in his career. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s signature brand is now apart of an exclusive Nike partnership with the Florida A&M University Rattlers.

The Rattlers announced the partnership in March. The six-year deal features special LeBron James-inspired gear for FAMU athletic programs. The teams will have official athletic footwear, apparel and equipment.

FAMU released images of their new apparel. Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams showcased new jerseys with LeBron's signature logo patch. The team also sported new LeBron sneakers from his current basketball line.

James has supported FAMU throughout the process. He’s made several appearances in FAMU gear and been very vocal on social media. James notably debuted the “FAMU” LeBron 18 sneaker earlier this year.

The Los Angeles Lakers star joins NBA legend Michael Jordan as an official jersey sponsor. The Jordan Brand notably sponsors North Carolina and Michigan.

FAMU will begin the 2021-2022 men’s basketball season against Kansas State on Nov. 10. The roster is filled with talent including senior guard MJ Randolph.

Randolph was named to the preseason All-SWAC second team. He told the Tallahassee Democrat in September that the team still has to win despite the LeBron deal.

“Although we have the LeBron sponsorship, we have to take care of business,” Randolph said. “We're working hard and we have a great chance this year.”

The Rattlers enter their first season in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and are projected to finish sixth in the latest preseason polls.
