Trenton Thunder bat dog Rookie is no stranger to the baseball diamond. Rookie is regularly seen at games and is beloved by players and fans alike.

On Wednesday, Rookie made a visit to Sahlen Field to hang with the Buffalo Bisons. The Bisons held a Dog Day to begin a five-game homestand against the Leigh Valley IronPigs.

In the first inning, Rookie made the visit memorable. Rookie sprinted onto the field to get a closer look to the action. The adorable adventure included a special mound visit and quick jog towards the plate.

The viral moment was caught on the Bisons broadcast. Several people, like NFL Network's Rich Eisen, marveled at the heartwarming spectacle as Rookie was back retrieving bats again.

After the game, Rookie explained his excitement on his Twitter account. He also apologized to Toronto Blue Jays standout Cavan Biggio for the impromptu interruption.

The Bisons fell 3-0 to the IronPigs. However, all was forgiven as Rookie brought smiles to everyone at the park.

Rookie can be seen regularly with the Thunder. The organization won the 2021 MLB Draft League championship. They went 30-18-8 and scored 98 points. The Thunder recently joined the MLB Draft League after serving as a minor league Double-A affiliate from 1980-2020.
