Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo held his fourth annual toy drive for children in need. Adebayo partnered with local organizations to donate over 1,500 toys to kids at the Samuel K. Johnson Youth Center in Liberty City.

Adebayo arrived in a heartwarming way. He interacted with several kids that were selected after writing a letter to Santa Bam. The kids were able to choose their favorite toy on the afternoon.

“Well, it’s awfully exciting, cause you know, obviously when you think about, kids they tell you what they really want,” Adebayo told WSVN 7 News Miami. “Cause that’s the biggest thing, you now, telling me what they really want, and that’s when Santa Bam jumps into action, I guess.”

Adebayo wanted to give back with purpose. He mentioned that helping provide a Christmas gift for children was something that meant a lot to him.

Through his Bam, Books and Brotherhood foundation, Adebayo hopes to lower the number of children without presents to open during the holiday season. The foundation’s aims to support and enrich communities through the special program.

This season, Adebayo is averaging 18.7 points and 10.2 rebounds. He is currently recovering from right thumb surgery and is expected to miss multiple weeks.
