The Cincinnati Bengals traded Billy Price to the New York Giants, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation. Cincinnati is receiving defensive tackle B.J. Hill in exchange for the center.

NFL Network was the first to report the news.

Cincinnati drafted Price in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The Ohio State product started in 10 games at center as a rookie. But he lost a training camp position battle to Trey Hopkins in 2019 and has since been relegated to a reserve utility interior lineman. He started in nine games from 2019 to 2020, filling in for injured starters.

ROSTER MOVES: Who will make the Bengals final 53-man roster?

In New York, Price will get a chance to upstart his career. The Giants currently have Nick Gates penciled in as their starter. Price, who is in the final year of his rookie deal, could push Gates for the starting spot or serve once again as a backup interior lineman. He is capable of lining up at center or guard.

For the Bengals, Hill should be able to contribute right away at defensive tackle. He’s played in 48 games (17 starts) with the Giants. The North Carolina State product has tallied 116 tackles and 7.5 sacks primarily as a reserve defensive tackle. He’ll likely have the same role in Cincinnati.
