Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines has agreed to a three-year contract worth $18.6 million with $10.3 guaranteed at signing, a league official told USA TODAY Sports+ senior NFL insider Josina Anderson.

Hines, 24, will also receive a $6 million signing bonus.

The extension, first reported by ESPN's Field Yates, keeps Hines with an Indianapolis backfield that already includes 22-year-old standout Jonathan Taylor, who isn't set to hit free agency until 2024 at the earliest.

Hines ran for a career-best 389 yards last season and posted three touchdowns. He also led the NFL in punt returns last year with 30.
