RIVALS

A city is divided one day out the year.

Hatred is real from both sides, showcasing years worth of unfiltered pride.

Walk into the barbershop and you hear the stories.

“I still can’t believe the game in ‘16 … We had them beat 28-3.”

Head into to grocery store and it’s more the same.

Run into the coach who refuses to remember that game.

It still haunts him like a ghost on Halloween.

Showing up every year to ruin his state dreams.

“This has got to the year,” the coach recalls. “Not another loss to them this fall.”

Rivals are enemy No. 1!

It’s kind of Shakespearean in tone.

Capulets and Montagues still wanting the throne.

Steady chasing the same bling

Always ending in war for something Much Ado About Nothing.

There is only one way to settle this beef.

And it’s on the field of battle.

Gear up and prepare to fight.

Another chapter begins tonight.

Give it all you got as it’s time to ride.

Tomorrow morning, victory will have chosen the right side.
