Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley is doing his part to help the local community. This week, Stanley launched a foundation to help pair rescue dogs with those in need.

The Ronnie Stanley Foundation is off to a fast start. Stanley has already helped pair two families with rescue dogs. The dogs were trained and placed in their forever homes.

Stanley has a deep passion for helping others. He mentioned that his goal for the foundation is to create an expanded community for both humans and animals.

“My life was changed and improved when I adopted my dogs. Through my foundation, I’m creating a larger community and network to help rescue dogs and humans,” Stanley said via his foundation’s website.

Several former NFL players are also involved.

The foundation’s Board of Directors include former defensive end Justin Tuck and safety Eric Weddle. Other board members include Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta and Washington Football Team chief operating officer Greg Resh.

The foundation also partners with local Baltimore organizations. The dogs are trained by local animal shelters like the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS). During a 30-day period, the rescue dogs work with certified trainers and receive food and housing.

The next step includes vetting families for the rescue dogs. It includes background checks, interviews and meeting with the rescue dogs. There is also some adoption paperwork involved for both parties.

If everything is approved, the families will get to take the rescue dogs home. Each family will also get a starter kit that includes crates, beds, bowls, toys, leashes and food among others. There are also complimentary training sessions with a professional trainer.

The foundation will start with the Baltimore area before expanding. They want to help those in need that deal with life challenges. The pairing of rescue dogs will help provide positive cheer and joy.

Stanley has adopted three rescue dogs since 2016. His foundation will now help create special moments for those that need it most.
