Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson has left quite the impression this season. The All-Pro returner is thriving in his first campaign with the Falcons. He’s become an offensive dynamo under Falcons coach Arthur Smith and lined up all over the formation.

Patterson is also a fan favorite off the field. On Sunday, the NFL veteran made a new fan during the Falcons home game against Detroit Lions. Patterson was heading to the locker room when he met a young fan and her family.

He noticed the young fan upset and stopped for a quick chat. He realized that the she wanted a football just like her brother.

Patterson made sure to make her day. He went and got a football before returning to the family. He gifted the football to the young fan and was met with all smiles. It was a touching moment that caught a lot of attention on social media.

Several people loved the kind gesture. It was another example of how Patterson’s endeared himself to the Falcons fan base.

Patterson is also known to play catch with fans prior to games as well.

This season, Patterson has a featured role within the organization. He has totaled 1,102 total yards (579 rushing | 523 receiving) and 11 touchdowns.

He’s also developed chemistry with Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. The duo's connected for five touchdowns this season.

The Falcons have an outside chance to make the NFL playoffs. They currently sit at 7-8 overall and will need to win their final two games. In addition, the Falcons also need to receive a lot of help.

If they make an improbable push, Patterson is likely going to be a big part of their success.
