Coming off a historic season, the Indiana women's basketball team will take on a historic coach and program during the 2021-22 campaign.

The Hoosiers announced Wednesday that they will take part in the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship in Nassua, Bahamas, on Nov. 25 and 27, taking on defending national champion Stanford and Miami (Fla.).

The Cardinal are coached by IU alum Tara Vanderveer, who is entering her 43rd season at the helm with 1,125 career wins.

The Thanksgiving Day game, which will be played at a time to be determined, will be streamed live via FloHoops.com. It will be the third meeting all-time between Indiana and Stanford, but the first since Nov. 16, 2001, an 87-72 win for the Cardinal in Palo Alto, Calif.

The Hoosiers are coming off a 21-6 campaign and the program's first trip to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament, returning all five starters under eighth-year head coach Teri Moren. That core group includes All-Americans Mackenzie Holmes and Grace Berger, who played with Stanford standout Haley Jones on the gold medal-winning U.S. AmeriCup team in June.

In IU's second game of the event, the Hoosiers will meet Miami for the second time in three seasons. Indiana won the last meeting on the road in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge in 2019, but the all-time series is tied, 2-2. That game time is also to be determined.

Other teams participating in the event include N.C. State and Maryland, which will meet on Thanksgiving Day as part of a doubleheader with Indiana and Stanford.
