Candice M. Jackson is returning home.

The Everett graduate and former Michigan State women's basketball player is returning to the Spartan program as the director of recruiting.

MSU coach Suzy Merchant announced Jackson's hiring on Monday afternoon.

"Being back at Michigan State is a full-circle moment," said Jackson, who was a two-time team captain while playing for the Spartans from 2000-04. "There is something special about working for your alma mater and the program that had such an important role in shaping my career."

Jackson, who started her coaching career with the Spartans as a graduate assistant in 2004-05, has gained plenty of experience over the last 15 years and was most recently an assistant at Buffalo.

Jackson was the head coach at College of Charleston from 2014-19 and also had stints as an assistant at Richmond, Wake Forest and Duke.

In her role with the Spartans, Jackson will oversee recruiting efforts and organize the summer calendar, recruiting visits and travel.

"We are thrilled to welcome Candice back to the Spartan family in an official capacity," Merchant said. "She brings a wealth of experience in her new role as director of recruiting. She has established herself as a well-respected recruiter and contributor in our profession. Her connections, recruitment of student-athletes in multiple regions of the country, past recruiting coordinator roles, head coaching experience as well as her engaging personality will serve us well in this new role on staff."
