Vanderbilt basketball team hosting tailgate, Coach Stackhouse grilling before UConn football

Before Vanderbilt football takes on UConn this evening, the Commodores men's basketball team will be hosting a tailgate, and head coach Jerry Stackhouse will be grill master for the day. 

The football game is set for kickoff at 6:30 p.m. at home.

The tailgate at Vandyville starts at 5 p.m. near Lot 1 on the corner of Natchez Trace and Dudley Avenue. The basketball team will be signing autographs, and fans can play games, win prizes, and stop by for giveaways.

Free food courtesy of Chef Stackhouse is available to all (while supplies last), while the first 100 students to the men’s basketball tailgate will receive a free t-shirt.

Among the prizes include tickets and a signed basketball, as well as a chance to play pop-a-shot and lawn games with other fans and basketball players.

The Commodores welcome back leading scorer and All-SEC first-team selection Scotty Pippen Jr. and returning starter Jordan Wright. A pair of experienced graduate transfers and three incoming four-star freshmen are also in the lineup for Stackhouse’s third season at the helm of the Commodores.
