Pro Football Network: Rams 28, Colts 20
Ben Rolfe writes: "This feels like a potentially tricky spot for the Rams. Coming off a Sunday Night Football primetime game into an early kickoff in Indianapolis is a tough spot. Meanwhile, the Colts got outplayed in Week 1; the lack of practice time for the offense caught up to them. The situation is tough for the Rams, but they put in a complete performance in Week 1 and should have too much talent for the Colts."
Sportsnaut: Rams 31, Colts 20
Matt Johnson writes: "In terms of mobility, Carson Wentz looked better than expected in Week 1. He performed well, given how much practice time he missed this summer, but the Colts’ offensive line left him exposed to pressure all game. It’s a troubling sign with the Los Angeles Rams coming to Indianapolis in Week 2."
The Game Day: Rams 28, Colts 21
Marcus Mosher writes: "One of the most impressive performances in Week 1 was Matthew Stafford’s debut against the Bears. On his second pass of the game, Stafford connected with Van Jefferson for a 67-yard touchdown. From that point on, the Rams never looked back. The Colts, on the other hand, struggled all day against the Seahawks. They allowed nearly a perfect passer rating to Russell Wilson and couldn’t get stops when they needed them. These two playoff teams from a year ago will meet in Week 2 for what should be a highly competitive game. While both teams would love to win this game, it might mean more for the Rams as they play in the most competitive division in football in the NFC West."
Sports Illustrated: Rams will win Week 2 game vs. Colts
MJ Hurley writes: "The Colts have a lot of unanswered questions. Carson Wentz appears to have made a miraculous recovery from his preseason injury, but the flow of their offense will not be there immediately. With a stacked backfield of Jonathan Taylor, Marlon Mack and Naheim Hines, Wentz will have plenty of backup but the Rams defense should be able to handle Indianapolis. Rams win."
CBS Sports: Rams have fared better against the spread than Colts
Tyler Sullivan writes: "The Los Angeles Rams lived up to the offseason hype when they began their 2021 season against the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. Matthew Stafford made his Los Angeles debut and got off to a fast start, completing a 67-yard touchdown pass to Van Jefferson on just his second throw of the night. With L.A. looking like a viable contender in the NFC, it's no surprise to see them serve as a road favorite they turn their attention to Week 2 and the Colts, who they have a 6-2 ATS record against in their past eight contests. Over the last five seasons, the Rams are also 4-1 ATS in Week 2. As for the Colts, they are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games."
Cappers picks: Go with the Rams to cover vs. Colts
Evan Petty writes: "The Rams are both 4 and 4.5-point favorites. That half-point isn’t likely to be the difference. The Colts will battle but Stafford’s excellence will wear them down. Sprinkle in just enough Darrell Henderson, who ran the ball 16 times in Week 1, and it should amount to another 30 points for the Rams. Indianapolis will have to hang tough to get to 20, which it failed to reach and which LA held Andy Dalton under on Sunday. Will Carson Wentz be any more of a challenge than Dalton was? He needed 38 attempts to gain 250 yards against the Seahawks. His two running backs were his lead receivers."
