Ben Rolfe writes: "No matter what changes in the world, relying on the Chargers to show consistency remains the same — impossible. Back-to-back road games (this one a 10 AM body clock kickoff) are a major concern. The last time they kicked off at 1 PM ET on the East Coast, they were taken apart 34-6 by the Ravens. The Bengals are coming off a huge victory over the Steelers, which has given them a real shot at the division. Cincy now has two 1 PM home games against West Coast teams. Their defense looks reinvigorated after the bye, and their running game should be able to have success against a struggling Chargers run defense."

Matt Johnson writes: "If both teams maintain their level of play, this could be one of the best NFL games in December. Herbert is playing like an MVP and Joe Burrow is making a phenomenal case for Comeback Player of the Year. We give the edge to the Bengals, but this should be an entertaining matchup."

Teddy Ricketson writes: "The Chargers have to travel across the country and kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET which never favors the West Coast road team. The Bengals offense has evolved which is scary. To start the year, it was just Burrow bombs to Ja’Marr Chase, but both Higgins and Mixon played a crucial and large role in their Week 12 win. The Chargers' defense doesn’t get much of a break and has shown that they are susceptible to giving up points. Austin Ekeler has carried the Los Angeles offense for the last two weeks and the Bengals have shown that they know how to handle a versatile running back. This one should be fun."

It writes: "Chargers are still happy their team got Justin Herbert instead of Tua Tagovailoa, despite the former Oregon Ducks star bumbling under center in Week 12’s 28-13 road loss to the Denver Broncos. Herbert passed for 303 yards and two touchdowns but threw a pair of interceptions and got sacked twice for a loss of 18 yards. Nevertheless, Los Angeles’ offense can’t be underestimated even after a bad performance like that. Running back Austin Ekeler and wide receiver Keenan Allen form a fantastic support tandem for Herbert, who looked otherworldly great in Week 11’s home win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. In that game, Herbert racked up 382 passing yards and three TDs against just an interception on 30/31 completions while also leading the Chargers with 90 rushing yards on nine carries."

Can Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers beat the Cincinnati Bengals in NFL Week 13?

Sportsnaut: Bengals 38, Chargers 27

Andrew Buller-Russ writes: "New Chargers coach Brandon Staley is one of the game’s premier defensive minds, yet Joe Burrow is far ahead of most second-year quarterbacks. Although they’ve been terrible this season, the Chargers were supposed to have a good defense, but the Bengals actually have a great one. Joe Mixon should be able to run all over one of the worst units against the run. In the Burrow vs Herbert matchup, the No. 1 pick wins."
