Christmas came on Thanksgiving Eve at Bridgestone Arena for the Nashville Predators.

Forward Filip Forsberg returned to the lineup Wednesday after missing nine games with an upper-body injury he suffered when his head accidentally collided with Roman Josi's shoulder during a game against the Calgary Flames.

He scored two goals, thought he'd scored another and had a puck go off the post in a 5-2 loss.

Forsberg played on the top line with Ryan Johansen and Eeli Tolvanen to start the game against the Vegas Golden Knights. He finished playing with Mikael Granlund and Matt Duchene.

After hitting the post in the first and having a goal overturned in the second, Forsberg scored one that counted in the third, but it was too late in the 5-2 loss.

Forsberg had four goals and three assists in the first nine games of the season, including three goals in his previous four games before the injury.

He will be an unrestricted free agent after this season if he does not sign a contract extension with the Predators.
